Not sure micro fashion could get much cuter, but it just did. Maggie Modena normally designs digitally printed handbags and backpacks for people. When she made one for her pug and frenchie (as seen above) and saw how many smiles it brought to people, she knew she had to pursue it further. That’s why she’ll be rolling out these packs on Kickstarter, Tuesday, November 10th.
Normally micro fashion is in reference to children. Seeing that many couples are waiting longer and longer to have children and are instead parenting pets, it’s only fitting that dogs are upgrading their wardrobe.
We’ve all seen the helper style saddle bags for dogs, but this dog backpack is equally as stylish as it is functional. Not only can you pack goodies such as extra doggie bags, treats, water, toys and dog wear, you can clip your leash directly on the back of the bag. You can even ditch your harness with this!
‘I frequently forget to grab extra doggie bags and now I just keep extras in her bag. Maggie also notes that it’s also great for our weekend camping trips, doggie daycare or bringing them to grandma’s house for the weekend.
‘You have to put on a harness anyway so may as well be a ridiculous and joyous dog backpack. It’s just fun.’
Additionally, Maggie designs the textiles herself and they are all exclusive to the brand. Four different prints will be made available on Kickstarter.
You’ll even have the option of matching packs for you and your pooch. Other tiers include funny entertainment for backers who might not have dogs including a sticker of a pug wearing a backpack and a calendar of dogs doing silly, human things.
‘Something I’ve always had in mind while designing my line is that fashion should be fun. These dog bags are perfectly that. You can enjoy what your dog’s wearing as much as they enjoy their walk. I couldn’t be more excited to share it with everyone.’
Surely, that’s exactly what these dog backpacks are. Between all of the silly calendar photos from the dog calendar, including a hard-core biker frenchie, painter pomeranian, ‘Wicked Pug of the Midwest,’ and a charming video that you should at the very least find some worthwhile entertainment.
If you’re looking for a holiday gift, the first 50 who purchase a dog backpack will not only get them for a lower price, but will also get them onetime for the holidays.
